Skillet Street Food

Skillet Street Food

00007fSeattle’s Skillet uses a vintage Airstream as a mobile eatery showing up at scheduled locations during the week. They serve breakfast and lunch from mobile locations near downtown Seattle, Fremont, Redmond, Capitol Hill and more. The odd thing about Skillet’s Airstream trailer is that it’s missing wheels and axles and is propped up on another flatbed trailer for towing.  Check their online site for the latest schedule.

Airstreamed Cupcakes

Airstreamed Cupcakes

Recently I posted about an Airstream serving shaved ice in Texas. Today there’s two Airstream trailers selling cupcakes in Austin, TX. Hey Cupcakes has three locations and two of them are inside a vintage Airstream trailer. Both trailers feature a large rotating cupcake on the roof that also lights up at night. Their menu includes vanilla, chocolate, carrot, and red velvet cupcakes. They also have one named after Michael Jackson described as “chocolate bottom, cream cheese top”.

Rock-A-Billy’s Shaved Ice

Rock-A-Billy’s Shaved Ice

How cool is this? Two guys restore a vintage Airstream and Rock-A-Billy’s Shaved Ice is born. It’s an old International model that’s been completely gutted, painted and set-up to churn out shaved ice. It’s even towed by a vintage Chevy truck painted orange. If you’re ever in Round Rock, TX get some shaved ice!
