Here’s a rare sighting. A vintage Airstream Argosy trailer painted red. It makes for a bold statement on the road and quite the contrast in this photo of the week.

Skillet Street Food

Skillet Street Food

00007fSeattle’s Skillet uses a vintage Airstream as a mobile eatery showing up at scheduled locations during the week. They serve breakfast and lunch from mobile locations near downtown Seattle, Fremont, Redmond, Capitol Hill and more. The odd thing about Skillet’s Airstream trailer is that it’s missing wheels and axles and is propped up on another flatbed trailer for towing.  Check their online site for the latest schedule.

Airstreamed Cupcakes

Airstreamed Cupcakes

Recently I posted about an Airstream serving shaved ice in Texas. Today there’s two Airstream trailers selling cupcakes in Austin, TX. Hey Cupcakes has three locations and two of them are inside a vintage Airstream trailer. Both trailers feature a large rotating cupcake on the roof that also lights up at night. Their menu includes vanilla, chocolate, carrot, and red velvet cupcakes. They also have one named after Michael Jackson described as “chocolate bottom, cream cheese top”.

Vintage Trailerware

Vintage Trailerware

Want an easy way to store your paper towel, foil and wax paper all in one place? Why not a vintage Kromex or Lincoln Beauty Wear all-in-one dispenser. That’s exactly what flickr user “gtykal” did. He restored his 1964 Airstream Bambi II and outfitted his kitchen with various Kromex pieces including the all-in-one dispenser, salt and pepper shakers and spice rack. The all metal design compliments the interior of an Airstream. You can try finding Kromex or Lincoln items on Google, eBay, or Etsy.
